Justin Trudeau tells Biden “US leadership has been sorely missed”

The Canadian Prime Minister and the US president had a meeting to discuss climate change. Justin Trudeau praised Joe Biden for rejoining the Paris climate accord. The meeting was done virtually due to the ongoing pandemic.

During the meeting Trudeau said "US leadership has been sorely missed over the past years."
Many people believe that the statement was a dig at Donald Trump. The two leaders agreed to work together to beat COVID 19 and Climate Change.

Biden told Trudeau "The United States has no closer friend, no closer friend, than Canada."

Trump did not care much for climate change. He called it a "bullshit" and a Chinese hoax. In June 2017 Trump withdrew the US from the Paris climate agreement. In the first month of  Biden's presidency he reentered the agreement.

Trudeau thanked Biden for supporting the release of Michael Spavor and Michal Kovrig, two Canadians being held by China. "Human beings are not bartering chips," Biden said. "We're going to work until we get their safe return."
